Hyundai Santa Fe Engine Lineup
You have three different choices for a powertrain in your Hyundai Santa Fe. The first choice is the base 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine that gives you 191 horsepower backed up with 181 lb-ft of torque. It’s mated with an 8-speed automatic transmission. The second engine is a 2.5-liter turbocharged inline-4 that generates 281 horsepower and puts out 311 lb-ft of torque. It’s paired up with an 8-speed dual-clutch automatic.
On either of these engines, front-wheel drive is standard, but all-wheel drive is optional. The only exception is the top trim level, which comes standard with all-wheel drive.
Third up, and the one you’ll probably look at if you want the best available fuel efficiency, is the hybrid powertrain. This one mates a turbocharged 1.6-liter 4-cylinder with a battery and electric motor that together give you 226 horsepower paired to a 6-speed automatic transmission and standard all-wheel drive.
